Bond to Earth, Affinity to Locality: Vernacular Chinese House and Settlement
Caxton House—China Research & Engagement is proud to host, in close collaboration with the School of Architecture at the Southeast University, this event of “Bond to Earth, Affinity to Locality: Vernacular Chinese House and Settlement.” The exhibition presents but a small corner of the captivating landscape of vernacular architecture in China, where tradition has incessantly been developing and modernity adaptively evolving. At the same time it illustrates the tireless work of contemporary Chinese architects, based both in central cities and remote rural areas.
