Exam Introductions

HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test)

HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) is an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency, assesses non-native Chinese speakers’ abilities in using the Chinese language in their daily, academic and professional lives. HSK consists of nine levels from HSK1 to HSK9.

*We offer paper-based and computer-based HSK tests from level 1 to level 6.

HSKK (Speaking Test)

HSKK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi Kouyu) assesses the test takers’ oral Chinese abilities. HSKK consists of three levels, HSKK (Primary level), HSKK (Intermediate level) and HSKK (Advanced level). HSKK is conducted in the form of audio recording.

YCT (Chinese Proficiency Test for Children)

YCT (Youth Chinese Test) is an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency, assesses the primary and secondary school students' abilities to use Chinese as second language in their daily and academic lives.

YCT consists of writing and speaking tests, which are independent to each other. The writing test consists of four levels from YCT Writing 1 to YCT Writing 4. The speaking test consists of two levels, YCT Speaking (Primary Level) and YCT Speaking (Intermediate Level).

  • We offer both paper-based and computer-based test formats. Please refer to the Exam Dates and Prices section for available test dates and formats.
  • For paper-based exams, registration closes one month before the exam date. For computer-based exams, registration closes 10 days before the exam date.
  • Once registration has closed, candidates cannot request a refund or change their exam date. After the registration deadline, we will email you to confirm the exam location and schedule.
  • For paper-based exams, results will be available online 30–31 days after the exam date. For computer-based exams, results will be available online 15–16 days after the exam date.You can check your results online by entering your name and admission ticket number.
  • Paper certificates will be available for collection from Caxton House approximately 45 days after the exam date. Please wait for our confirmation email before coming to collect your certificate.
