To mark the Chinese New Year of the Monkey, the Chinese Embassy challenged primary schools across the United Kingdom to create a Mandarin movie based on the story of The Monkey King.

As a result of their hard work, creativity and enthusiasm, Highgate Primary School, one of CITCM’s Confucius Classrooms, was announced the well-deserved winner. CITCM would like to congratulate all of the Year 6’s who made the video such a success.

Ms Li Rui, the CITCM teacher who works at Highgate Primary School, explained that ‘the students at Highgate Primary School work very hard in their Mandarin classes. Working on this video gave them the opportunity to show off their Mandarin and learn more about Chinese culture'. She went on to express that ‘they were rightful winners’.

CITCM has provided Highgate Primary school with Mandarin teachers for over two years and the school was recently awarded Confucius Classroom status. Highgate Primary School also has a local Mandarin teacher who effectively manages the Confucius Classroom.

Congratulations once again to all involved!
