The Development and Progression of the Chinese Legal System

On Tuesday 25th April, Professor Zhengda Miao, Head of the Law Department at Harbin Normal University will be delivering a lecture at London South Bank University. Harbin Normal University is one of CITCM's Chinese partner Universities.

Professor Miao is a specialist in Jurisprudence, Administrative Law and Education Law. He has a strong interest in Legal Education and has won many awards, including the Heilongjiang College Teaching Achievement Award, Distinguished Law Worker of Heilongjiang Law Association and Harbin Normal University Outstanding Teacher.

In August 2016, LSBU's Associate Professor Andy Unger and Associate Professor Chris Shepherd had the opportunity to visit Professor Zhengda Miao in Harbin to discuss the development of a new module on Chinese Business Law, which he has kindly agreed to support. The module will be offered from 2017-2018 as an option on the LLM International Commercial Law and includes the study of mandarin and a study visit to China.

This lecture will offer an overview of current developments within the Chinese Legal System and is open to anyone with an interest in the Chinese legal system, particularly lawyers, academics and students.
