Professor Yinong Xu

PhD (Edinburgh); MArch (Tsinghua); BArch (Tsinghua)

Professor Yinong Xu was educated at Tsinghua University, China, and the University of Edinburgh, the United Kingdom. He had taught Chinese architecture and urbanism at Brown University for two years before his employment at the University of New South Wales, where he has concentrated on teaching architectural history and theory, architectural design and architectural communications, while intensively devoting himself to cross-cultural and inter-institutional engagement in both educational and institutional development. Yinong has authored one scholarly book and numerous book chapters and articles for international refereed journals and conferences. His main areas of interest in research include architectural history, urban history, garden history, time and memory in architecture, and architectural and pictorial space, all of which have been approached from cross-cultural perspectives.

A/Professor Bo Sheng

A/Professor Bo Sheng graduated from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine. She received her BA degree for Acupuncture and Tuina in 2000, master’s degree for Clinical Foundation in 2003, and PhD degree for Chinese Medicine Formula in 2008.

A/Professor Sheng joined CITCM as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) lecturer in 2008 and started her role as Co-director in 2020. She is also a registered practitioner at The Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture UK (ATCM). With over 20 years’ experience, A/Professor Sheng devotes herself to TCM research and practice.

Professor Zhaohui Wang

A/Professor Zhaohui Wang received his MA in Online Education from California State University and his BA in English Education from Harbin Normal University, China. He has worked as an academic for over 20 years at Harbin Normal University and has gained extensive experience, particularly in the field of language learning and teaching. Zhaohui Wang joined CITCM in August 2022 as Co-Director and enjoys applying his expertise in education and second language acquisition to develop further the Mandarin learning and teaching programmes in local schools.

Ms Helen Han

MATESOL, BA, PGCHE, FHEA

Helen received her MATESOL from the University of Canberra and her BA from Harbin Normal University, China. She has extensive experience in teaching English, Mathematics and Mandarin Chinese across all age groups. Helen is committed to promoting Chinese language and culture in the UK and believes that the sharing of good practice can benefit teachers and students from both countries. She has translated a historical book, and has interpreted on several formal occasions. She has been working at her current post since September 2015.

Ms June Xue

June obtained her Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from Renmin University of China, following her Bachelor’s degree in the same field from Luoyang Normal University. Before joining LSBU, June had been a Mandarin teacher to all age groups in the Philippines, UK, Italy, and China, and she has substantial experience with designing, organising, and managing Mandarin learning and teaching programmes.

Mr Daniel Fang

Daniel, from Taiwan, graduated from the University of Essex in the UK and holds a master’s degree in interpreting and translation. Before joining LSBU, Daniel worked for a government agency in Taipei for 8 years and was in charge of public communication, media relationship management, and online and desktop publishing. In addition, he has a solid medical background with 6 years of clinical experience as a rehabilitation specialist. At Caxton House / CICTM, he aims to put his mixed skills to the best use to facilitate cross-cultural communications and boost business.

Dr She

Jun She, Ph.D, graduated from the Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine China in 2007, came to the UK in 2008, is an experienced TCM practitioner and lecturer both in China and UK, and has over 10 years of experience in TCM practice and teaching.

Mr Chris Xianzhong Liang

Yuanyuan Shen (Jonah) works at Caxton House/CITCM in his capacity as Coordinator for Volunteer Mandarin Teachers. Before joining CITCM, he received both education and training courses in Beijing Institute of Technology (China), Nebrija University (Spain). He gained substantial teaching experience as a science teacher in Falcon International School (Costa Rica), a Mandarin language teacher in Ricardo Palma University (Peru), a coordinator for Chinese courses in Nebrija University as well as for the programme between CLEC (Center for Language Education and Cooperation) and the Community of Madrid.

Yinuo Wang

Yinuo is a practitioner at Caxton House, CITCM. She obtained her bachelor's degree in traditional Chinese medicinemoving on to a master's degree in the same field at the Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine. Yinuo is a registered member of the Chinese Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Alliance UK (CAHMA).

Xueqing Wang

Wang is an acupuncture practitioner at Caxton House Acupuncture Clinic. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in traditional Chinese medicine, pursuing the same field for a master’s degree at the Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine. Wang is a Chinese Red Cross First Aider and a registered member of the Chinese Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Alliance UK (CAHMA).
